Title: Director of Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting
Location: New York, NY
Salary: 160-170k

This individual will be responsible by assisting our clients with the following:

Research and preparation of technical accounting memos (Lease Accounting, Revenue 606, Accounting for equity & debt issuance with derivatives, purchase accounting, divestures, VIE’s, consolidations, knowledge of SEC rules and regulations);

Provide support and guidance on technical accounting issues on a variety of complex topics;

SEC audit and review preparation oversight;

Identification of and communication with auditors of situations where complex valuation techniques are required;

Assessment and improvement of financial processes and internal controls, SOX 404;

Prepare and review financial statements for both the public and private sector including disclosures for audit;

Assume responsibility of the e?ciency of performance for engagements;

Develop and maintain client relationships.

Qualifications:
A minimum of 10 years accounting experience with at least 5-7 years public accounting experience A MUST. Small to mid-size public experience in a PCAOB firm a plus
Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Accounting. CPA a must / MBA Preferred
Must have strong working knowledge of SEC accounting for smaller reporting companies with a strong understanding of the unique debt and equity technical accounting issues that arise, which include, but are not limited to:

Convertible debt including the treatment of BCF’s, derivatives, relative fair value allocation
Complex equity transactions including the valuation of options, warrants

Excellent knowledge of GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles
Possess outstanding project management and analytical skills; must be able to grasp complex situations prioritize
Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience with financial modeling
