Title: VIR Nurse
Salary Potential: $115,000
This nursing position within the IR team is primarily responsible for the pre-, intra- and post-procedural care of these patients, including delivering moderate sedation.
The IR team includes the Interventional Radiologists, IR techs, nurses and an IR PA, all of whom work in tandem and with fluidity.
The IR nurse will become proficient in patient assessment and be competent in the management of IR patients, which includes general radiology care.
Responsibilities include “on call” shifts during non-operational hours of the lab to provide coverage for urgent/emergent cases.
During rotations as the IR charge nurse, responsibilities will include coordinating the daily procedural schedule and supervision of unit activities and non-RN personnel.
2-3 year critical care experience preferred (includes ER experience).
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Valid Connecticut RN license
BSN highly preferred
Maintain minimum of 6 contact hours annually.
BLS & ACLS required and PALS Preferred
Procedural experience and moderate sedation (Preferred)
Available within 30 minutes for “on-call” responsibilities (Restricted call)
