Oncology Clinical Navigator RN

Our client, an acute care medical center, is looking for an Oncology Clinical Navigator RN to work closely with patients’ oncology care team and facilitate the coordination of patient care through the continuum. As the Oncology Clinical Navigator RN you will act as an educator, advocate, care coordinator, system navigator, and community ambassador with a mission to improve the cancer experience for each patient and will be a support system for the patient and their family at a critical time, after diagnosis and through treatment.As the Oncology Clinical Navigator RN you will facilitate access to various multidisciplinary programs and services, patient assessments, testing, procedures, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient outcomes.

Title: Oncology Clinical Navigator, RN
Location: White Plains, NY’
Salary: $130,000+

Facilitate patient understanding of their diagnosis and the available treatment options
Educate the patient and caregivers of the potential signs or symptoms that may arise over the course of treatment and recovery
Collaborate with all members of the health care team to ensure information is current and available from all of your physicians, nurses and counselors
Coordinate patient care with all other healthcare provider throughout the system. This includes: Breast Imaging, Cancer Genetics, Cancer Clinical Trials, Social Work, Nutritional Services, Financial Services, Holistic Nursing, Art Therapy, and Palliative Medicine
Provide appropriate educational and emotional support for potential and actual cancer patients and their families
Connect the patient and family with community resources including the support services of Gilda’s Club Westchester, the American Cancer Society and Cancer Support Team, which provides: education on disease and treatment; comfort and symptom management; patient and family counseling

Register Nurse in State of NY with their BSN, MS preferred
Five to ten years of oncology experience strongly preferred, ONS certification preferred for RNs
Spanish speaking preferred
Knowledge of radiology and breast imaging preferred
