Our client, a publicly traded biotech firm, seeks a FP&A leader who has experience working as a strategic business partner with late stage R&D organizations. The ideal client is available to work in-person full time and

Title: Director of RD FP&A
Salary: 170-180k plus bonus
Location: Cambridge, MA

Supporting and serving as the strategic and operational business partner for the R&D organization particularly the Clinical Development team
Collaborate with Clinical Operations and external CRO’s to review and understand clinical contract terms and clinical development plans
Collaboratively work with accounting group in the monthly close process, satisfying PO accrual requirements, identifying clinical study modeling inputs, and recording related accruals
Develop and standardize financial reports to highlight variances between actuals and forecast, and deliver business insights
Lead scenario planning and forecasting for new and ongoing trials
Support broader organization through ad hoc projects and analysis
Provide insightful analytics to highlight risks and opportunities


BS or MBA in Finance or Accounting
10+ years’ total work experience, including 2-3 years experience in FP&A supporting clinical trials
Must possess strong finance skills, analytical ability, and solid business acumen as well as interpersonal/communication/ partnering skills
Strong understanding of GAAP including accruals and capitalization vs expense
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across organizations and utilize resources effectively
Ability to work independently in an exciting, fast-paced environment, and handle confidentiality
Strong presentation skills to audiences of all levels and technical abilities
Excellent oral and written communication skills with close attention to detail
Well-organized, able to support multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Thrives working in a matrixed, team environment, must be flexible, agile, and possess strong judgement.
