The Foreman is responsible for leading daily field operations on heavy civil and bridge construction projects throughout Connecticut. This role supervises crews, coordinates manpower and equipment, enforces safety standards, and ensures work is performed in accordance with project plans and DOT specifications.
You will serve as a key on-site leader and works closely with the Superintendent and Project Manager to deliver projects safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.

Location: New Haven County, CT
Salary: $35.00 to $45.00HR (OT Opportunities Available)
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and direct field crews on heavy civil, bridge, and highway projects
Plan and coordinate daily work activities, manpower, materials, and equipment
Enforce company safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations
Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings
Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers on-site
Monitor quality control and ensure all work meets project and DOT specifications
Maintain daily field reports, timekeeping, and production tracking
Identify and resolve field issues proactively to avoid delays
Communicate progress, challenges, and updates to project leadership
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in heavy civil, bridge, or highway construction
Proven leadership experience as a Foreman, Lead Carpenter, or Lead Operator
Experience on DOT and public infrastructure projects preferred
Strong understanding of bridge components including concrete, formwork, rebar, structural steel, and related systems
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working on state DOT bridge projects in Connecticut
Knowledge of scheduling and production planning
Experience coordinating multiple trades on-site
CDL or equipment operation experience is a plus
