Position Details

Title: Accounting Manager – Revenue – Hybrid
Location: Greater Philadelphia PA
Base Salary: $135,000 – $150,000
Bonus: 15% Target Bonus
Total Target Compensation: Approximately $145,000 – $184,000

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Accounting & ASC 606 Leadership
Own the end-to-end revenue recognition process under ASC 606.
Analyze contracts, identify performance obligations, and manage percentage-of-completion (POC) revenue accounting where applicable.
Determine contract asset and liability positions and quantify related revenue impacts.
Design and enhance scalable revenue accounting processes, controls, and policies.
Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, internal controls, and reporting requirements.
Month-End Close & Financial Reporting
Lead revenue-related close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial review.
Reconcile project and operational data to the general ledger.
Investigate financial fluctuations, identify issues, and recommend corrective actions.
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements.
Leadership & Team Development
Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff and senior accountants.
Provide ongoing coaching, guidance, and performance feedback.
Coordinate workload planning and review processes to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.
Cross-Functional Business Partnership
Partner with Operations, FP&A, and other business leaders to provide accounting insights and financial guidance.
Support new business initiatives and operational changes from a technical accounting perspective.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting activities.
Serve as a trusted advisor on revenue recognition and accounting compliance matters.
Process Improvement & Systems Optimization
Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve operational efficiency.
Support system enhancements, automation initiatives, and ERP optimization efforts.
Consolidate and normalize revenue data across multiple entities, platforms, and systems.
Strengthen internal controls and reporting consistency across the organization.

Qualifications

Active CPA designation required.
8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including both public accounting and industry experience.
Prior leadership experience managing and developing accounting professionals.
Strong expertise in ASC 606 revenue recognition and accounting operations.
Experience working in large, complex, high-growth, or fast-paced organizations.
Knowledge of month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal controls.
Experience operating within parent/subsidiary structures and corporate reporting environments.
Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across functions.

Preferred Qualifications

Big 4 or nationally recognized public accounting firm experience.
Experience with ERP systems, including SAP S/4HANA or similar enterprise platforms.
Background within industrial distribution, construction products, building materials, manufacturing, or other multi-location businesses.
Experience supporting SOX compliance, consolidated reporting, and large-scale accounting transformations.
Proven track record implementing process improvements and automation initiatives.
