Assistant Controller

Title: Assistant Controller
Location: Hartford County, CT
Salary: $90,000 – 100,000 +Bonus

Key Responsibilities
• Support monthly close, financial reporting, and internal controls
• Maintain general ledger and related accounting records in a SOX environment
• Partner with operations on cost accounting, inventory, and margin analysis
• Develop and monitor controllable expense reporting to drive cost reduction
• Coordinate account reconciliations and intercompany activity
• Oversee accounting for fixed assets, tooling, and capital expenditures
• Support physical inventory counts and cycle counting processes
• Assist with audits, including SOX 404 and internal reviews
• Help identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
• Drive financial acumen across the business through clear, actionable insights

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s a plus)
• 4–6 years of accounting experience in manufacturing and/or public accounting
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, cost accounting, and inventory accounting
• Experience working in a SOX-controlled environment
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
• Strong communication skills and confidence working cross-functionally
• Motivated, curious, and interested in long-term growth
