Title: Accounts Payable Manager – Hybrid
Salary: $120,000 to $140,000, Plus Bonus Potential
Location: Rye, NY
A highly successful and diversified organization with both domestic and international operations is seeking an experienced and hands-on Accounts Payable Manager to oversee and enhance the accounts payable function across multiple affiliated companies and business units. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership while driving process improvements, system enhancements, and operational efficiencies within a growing entrepreneurial environment.
The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, a process improvement mindset, and the ability to manage complex AP operations while partnering cross-functionally with Accounting, Treasury, Operations, Logistics, and Management teams.
Responsibilities:
• Manage Accounts Payable operations across multiple affiliated companies and business units, ensuring consistency in policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Lead AP-related system implementations, process improvement initiatives, and ERP enhancements to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities.
• Coordinate cash requirements and payment planning with Treasury to support cash management objectives.
• Train, mentor, and develop AP staff while assigning responsibilities and monitoring performance.
• Develop, maintain, and improve AP workflows, approval hierarchies, vendor onboarding procedures, and payment controls.
• Analyze AP metrics, payment trends, aging reports, and operational data to identify risks and improve team performance.
• Partner closely with Accounting, Logistics, Operations, Treasury, and Management teams to ensure effective communication and process execution.
• Support acquisitions, integrations, and organizational growth initiatives by establishing AP processes, controls, and reporting structures.
• Identify automation opportunities and drive standardization across multiple business units.
• Review high-value vendor payments and resolve escalated issues requiring management intervention.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, audit requirements, banking controls, and regulatory obligations.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5 plus years of progressive Accounts Payable and/or Accounting experience, 3 plus years of supervisory or management experience within an AP function.
• Experience managing AP operations across multiple entities or business units preferred.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and Accounting/ERP systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Self-motivated professional capable of working independently while leading a team.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, growing, and entrepreneurial environment.
