Position Details
Title: Associate Director of Network Engineering
Location: New Haven County, CT
Salary: $150,000 to $170,000 +Bonus
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Network Engineering team, providing technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance.
Design, implement, and support enterprise networking infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, firewalls, VPNs, wireless networks, and UCaaS/CCaaS platforms.
Act as the escalation point for complex network incidents, driving troubleshooting efforts and root cause analysis.
Ensure the availability, performance, and reliability of enterprise network services through monitoring and optimization initiatives.
Partner closely with cybersecurity teams to maintain secure network environments and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
Oversee lifecycle planning, upgrades, and maintenance for routers, switches, firewalls, and related network technologies.
Support the architecture and implementation of hybrid cloud networking environments across Azure and other cloud platforms.
Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams to deliver seamless enterprise technology solutions.
Maintain accurate network documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
Manage vendor relationships, support contracts, and technology service providers.
Lead strategic networking projects, including cloud integrations, infrastructure modernization initiatives, office expansions, and data center migrations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
12+ years of hands-on network engineering experience within complex enterprise environments.
3-5+ years of leadership, supervisory, or team management experience.
Strong expertise with enterprise networking technologies, including Cisco, Fortinet, Aruba, Meraki, Arista, and Azure networking solutions.
Advanced knowledge of routing and switching protocols, including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, QoS, VLANs, and STP.
Experience managing firewalls, VPN technologies, and Zero Trust security architectures.
Strong background in cloud networking, including Azure ExpressRoute, VPN Gateways, Azure Firewalls, Virtual WAN, BGP, and VNET design.
Experience with network monitoring, automation, and management tools such as SolarWinds and LogicMonitor.
Familiarity with cloud-based UCaaS and CCaaS platforms.
Outstanding analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
