Title: Controller (Manufacturing & Project Accounting)
Location: Torrington, CT Hybrid
Salary: $120,000 – $150,000 base + performance bonus + benefits

Responsibilities
Cash Management & Forecasting
Develop and maintain accurate weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts
Monitor liquidity and working capital across manufacturing and installation operations
Partner with leadership to align forecasting with production schedules and project timelines
Identify risks/opportunities and recommend proactive solutions
Accounting & Financial Reporting
Lead month-end and year-end close processes
Prepare and review financial statements, including job profitability and WIP reports
Maintain general ledger accuracy and enforce accounting policies
Reconciliation & Controls
Oversee all account reconciliations (banking, inventory, WIP, intercompany)
Ensure accurate job costing and revenue recognition
Implement and strengthen internal controls
Investigate and resolve discrepancies
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and industry requirements
Manage audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting
Oversee contract and subcontractor financial compliance
Cost Accounting & Job Costing
Manage standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation
Monitor labor efficiency, materials, and manufacturing performance
Ensure accurate costing across fabrication and installation projects
Support pricing, margin analysis, and bid evaluations
Leadership & Process Improvement
Supervise and develop accounting staff
Drive ERP and reporting improvements
Partner cross-functionally with operations and project teams
Deliver financial insights to support strategic growth
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility
Strong expertise in cash forecasting, reconciliations, and financial controls
Experience in manufacturing and/or construction/project accounting
Deep knowledge of job costing, WIP, and revenue recognition
ERP system experience (e.g., Sage, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Epicor, etc.)
Advanced Excel skills
Preferred
Experience in millwork, fabrication, or subcontracting environments
Familiarity with percentage-of-completion accounting
Proven track record improving systems and processes in a growing company
