Accounting Director Healthcare

We are a nonprofit healthcare organization with a network of over 2500 healthcare providers, consisting of Primary Care Physicians, behavioral health providers, pharmacies, and community-based organizations, that care for over 1 million patients in New York’s
underserved communities. We are looking for an Accounting Director with healthcare experience (reporting to the CFO) to oversee our full accounting operations.

Position: Accounting Director Healthcare
Location: Bronx, NY
Hours: 9 am – 5 pm
Salary: $135,000 – $150,000 (Bonus Potential)

Responsibilities:

Ensures accurate financial reportng, compliance with regulatory requirements, effectve internal controls, and leads the team through external audits and single audits.
Leads month-end close, manages day-to-day accountng functions, coordinates government grants and programs’ financial reportng, and supports executive leadership with
timely financial insights to guide strategic decision-making.
Manages and develops the accounting team, streamlines processes, ensures data integrity across financial files, and collaborates with cross-functional teams including Human Resources, Claims, IT,
Actuarial and Operations.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA preferred (or equivalent experience)
10+ years of progressive accoun??ng experience in supervisory role
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting and experience with healthcare finance: managed care & health insurance
Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with accoun??ng systems
Strong leadership presence and ability to communicate clearly with both financial and non-financial
stakeholders
