Title: Accounting Manager
Location: Wilton, CT
Potential Compensation: $110,000 to $120,000
Role Overview
The accounting manager will work with key leaders to develop and lead accounting and financial reporting functions. Oversee month end close procedures, and ongoing process improvement initiatives. As the company scales, this role offers meaningful opportunities to take on more advanced analytical and operational responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and review financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Analyze monthly results and explain key variances
• Manage the general ledger and oversee the month-end close process
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including payables and receivables
• Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements
• Support audits and work closely with external auditors
• Maintain strong internal controls and improve processes where needed
• Lead and develop a small accounting team
• Monitor cash flow and support treasury activities
• Partner with leadership to provide financial insights and reporting
• Assist with reporting packages and ongoing process improvements
Qualifications
• 6-8 years of accounting experience, CPA Track/CPA preferred
• Supervisory/management experience for at least a year
• Familiarity with tools such as Excel (advanced), Power Query, or other automation platforms; exposure to Python or Alteryx is a plus.
• Experience with Yardi/MRI preferred but not required.
• Solid understanding of GAAP principles.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a fast paced, evolving environment.
• Self motivated and curious, with a desire to grow both accounting and technical skill sets.
