We are seeking a hands-on, highly driven Senior Accountant to serve as the right-hand partner to senior leadership within a dynamic business. This individual will take full ownership of the month-end close process, oversee balance sheet reconciliations, support new finance and accounting initiatives, and supervise 1–2 accounting staff members.

Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Elmsford, NY
Potential Compensation: $85,000 – 130,000

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the full month-end close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
• Prepare, review, and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Ensure proper adherence to GAAP and corporate accounting policies.
• Deliver monthly financial statements and analysis to senior leadership.
• Act as a strategic partner to leadership on financial initiatives, process improvements, and operational enhancements.
• Analyze financial performance and explain key business drivers in a clear, meaningful way.
• Provide insights to leadership around trends, risks, and opportunities impacting the business.
• Leverage ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, QuickBooks or similar) to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
• Identify and lead process improvements and automation opportunities.
• Partner with the parent company when needed for reporting, consolidation, and compliance requests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Master’s/CPA is preferred
• Experience in public accounting
• 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on month-end close
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite
• Background in manufacturing or similar industry
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS and internal controls.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

• Experience working with a PE backed company
• Prior experience mentoring or supervising junior staff.
• Demonstrated ability to streamline, automate, or enhance accounting processes.
