Title: Construction Superintendent
Location: Greater Hartford, CT
Salary: $120,000 – $190,000 DOE

You’ll take primary responsibility for scheduling and coordinating crews, equipment, and subcontractors to keep projects running efficiently, on budget, and to spec. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows how to read a jobsite, solve problems before they become delays, and build the kind of trust that leads to repeat business.

What You’ll Do:

Own the day-to-day running of the jobsite, from field office setup to project close-out
Read and interpret plans/specs to plan each phase of construction, flagging risks like long-lead items early
Build and manage schedules, including a weekly 3-week look-ahead with subcontractors
Lead weekly subcontractor and foreman meetings, and run regular safety meetings
Review submittals, maintain the submittal log, and confirm mock-ups match spec before installation
Manage the punchlist and close-out process, keeping documentation current (as-builts, insurance certs, daily logs, backcharge/safety notifications)
Support the Project Manager on schedule, budget, and change order issues
Mentor junior superintendents as needed
Represent the company well — this is a relationship business, and your reputation on-site shapes future work

What Our Client Is Looking For:

2+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction
At least one project over $5M completed as Lead Superintendent
Experience across at least two market sectors (e.g., retail, multifamily, education, healthcare, senior living, K–12, federal, mixed-use)
Experience with at least two structural systems (structural steel, wood/timber framing, cast-in-place concrete, cold-formed metal framing)
Experience with at least two delivery methods (GC lump sum, CM-at-Risk/GMP, Design-Build)
Comfortable with MS Office and standard jobsite technology
Willingness to travel as needed for projects

What’s Offered:

Competitive salary and a structured bonus program
Strong benefits: medical, dental, and 100% employer-paid vision
Paid parental leave, vacation, sick time, and floating holidays
Student loan repayment contributions and tuition reimbursement
Career development and mentorship support
A team culture that genuinely invests in its people
