Staff Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our finance team in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, with a focus on accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, payroll reconciliations, and bank reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and experience working in a fast-paced, product-driven company.
Title: Staff Accountant
Location: Wichita, KS On-site
Potential Compensation: $50,000 to 60,000
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable (AP):
Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments.
Reconcile AP ledger and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain vendor records and support month-end close activities.
Accounts Receivable (AR):
Generate and send customer invoices.
Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding receivables.
Apply customer payments and reconcile AR accounts.
Invoicing:
Prepare and review sales invoices for accuracy and completeness.
Coordinate with sales and operations teams to ensure proper billing.
Maintain organized records of all invoicing activities.
Payroll Reconciliations:
Reconcile payroll transactions with general ledger accounts.
Collaborate with HR/payroll provider to ensure accuracy.
Assist in payroll journal entries and reporting.
Bank Reconciliations:
Perform monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Ensure proper documentation and audit trail.
General Accounting Support:
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation.
Support internal and external audits as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP).
Strong Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with inventory accounting and cost of goods sold (COGS).
Knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
Familiarity with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex).
