Title: Senior Azure Data Engineer
Salary: $130,000 – $150,000 +Bonus
Location: Remote

If you’re the type of Data Engineer who enjoys building platforms rather than simply maintaining them, this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.
We’re looking for an experienced Azure Data Engineer to help drive a major enterprise-wide data modernization initiative. The foundation has already been built. Now it’s time to scale it.
This is an opportunity to help expand a modern Azure-based data ecosystem across multiple business domains while playing a key role in the evolution of a data marketplace, lakehouse architecture, metadata strategy, and enterprise data products.
You’ll work on a highly visible initiative that is transforming how data is collected, governed, shared, and consumed throughout a large international organization.

What Makes This Opportunity Different?
This is an opportunity to help shape the next generation of a modern Azure data platform built around:

• Microsoft Fabric
• Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS)
• Azure Data Factory
• Lakehouse Architecture
• Medallion Design Patterns
• PySpark & Spark SQL
• Data Products & Data Marketplace Concepts
• Event-Driven and Microservices Architectures
• Enterprise Analytics & Power BI
You’ll work closely with architecture, analytics, governance, and business teams to build scalable solutions that support North and South American operations.

What You’ll Be Doing
• Designing and building enterprise-scale Azure data platforms
• Expanding and optimizing Azure Data Lake and Lakehouse environments
• Creating scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Fabric, PySpark, Spark SQL, and Azure Data Factory
• Integrating ERP systems, APIs, master data platforms, and other enterprise applications
• Building data models that support both operational and analytical workloads
• Supporting the evolution of a modern data marketplace and data product strategy
• Implementing Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold)
• Developing event-driven integrations using Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, APIs, and messaging technologies
• Improving data quality, governance, lineage, and security
• Helping guide cloud modernization initiatives and legacy platform migrations
• Contributing to architecture decisions and engineering best practices across the organization

What We’re Looking For

We’re interested in engineers who have actually built these environments—not just worked around them.
The strongest candidates will have:

• Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric
• Strong Azure Data Lake (ADLS Gen2) expertise
• Advanced Azure Data Factory experience
• Strong PySpark, Spark SQL, Python, and SQL skills
• Experience designing and implementing Lakehouse architectures
• Strong understanding of data modeling and enterprise data architecture
• Experience integrating APIs, messaging systems, and event-driven platforms
• Exposure to Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, Logic Apps, and related integration technologies
• Power BI and semantic model experience
• CI/CD and DevOps experience within Azure environments

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who can clearly explain the solutions you’ve built, the architectural decisions you’ve made, the challenges you’ve encountered, and the business value you’ve delivered.

The Ideal Background
You may come from manufacturing, financial services, healthcare, retail, distribution, technology, or another industry entirely.
What matters most is your ability to design, build, and scale modern Azure data platforms while thinking beyond individual pipelines and understanding how data supports the broader business.
If you’re a strong engineer with an architectural mindset who enjoys building modern data ecosystems that drive real business value, we’d love to hear from you.
