We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Divisional Controller to lead financial accounting, reporting, cost accounting, and internal controls for a growing business division. This individual will oversee the monthly close process, provide financial leadership to the business, and partner with operational leaders to drive performance, improve processes, and support strategic decision-making.
This is a highly visible leadership role requiring strong financial and operational acumen, deep cost accounting experience, and the ability to translate financial data into meaningful business insights.

Title: Divisional Controller
Location: Westbury, NY (in-office)
Salary: $140,000 – $170,000 + Bonus

Key Responsibilities
Lead all financial accounting, reporting, and monthly close activities for the division
Oversee cost accounting processes and provide analysis around inventory, manufacturing costs, margins, and operational performance
Partner with FP&A and operational leaders to deliver financial insights and support business decision-making
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies
Maintain and strengthen internal controls and SOX compliance processes
Oversee preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and key operating metrics
Lead balance sheet reconciliations and ensure strong financial controls and processes are maintained
Manage key accounting areas, including inventory, reserves, fixed assets, capitalization, and depreciation
Support acquisitions, business integrations, restructuring initiatives, and special projects as needed
Partner with IT and business teams to ensure systems and processes support financial reporting requirements
Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff while promoting accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s degree preferred
CPA or CMA preferred
8–12+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
Prior leadership experience managing and developing accounting teams
Strong cost accounting experience, including inventory accounting, standard costing, manufacturing variances, and operational analysis
Experience in a manufacturing or operational environment strongly preferred
Experience supporting internal controls and SOX environments
Strong analytical, business partnership, and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate effectively with finance and operational leadership teams
