Location: 100% Remote (EST)
Title: Life Underwriting Quality Specialist
Salary: $110,000 – 130,000 +Bonus

You will work closely with senior underwriting leadership, including the Chief Underwriter, helping assess underwriting quality, identify operational risks, strengthen controls, and improve overall underwriting practices. This role offers strong visibility and the chance to become deeply involved in projects that impact underwriting operations at a strategic level.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct quality reviews and audits of underwriting decisions to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to underwriting guidelines
• Partner closely with underwriting leadership to identify trends, risks, deficiencies, and opportunities for operational improvement
• Evaluate underwriting practices, internal controls, and compliance with company procedures and regulatory standards
• Assist with underwriting audits, risk assessments, reporting, and process walkthroughs
• Provide constructive feedback to underwriting staff and contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives
• Support cross-functional projects involving underwriting operations, reporting, controls, and data governance
• Help prepare audit findings, operational reports, and presentations for senior leadership
• Participate in initiatives focused on improving underwriting efficiency, quality, and consistency
What They’re Looking For:
• 5+ years of Life Insurance underwriting experience with strong risk assessment capabilities
• Experience within underwriting quality assurance, audit, compliance, or underwriting operations highly preferred
• Strong understanding of life underwriting processes, insurance operations, and underwriting guidelines
• Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills
• Someone who enjoys identifying problems, improving processes, and helping strengthen underwriting quality
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a highly professional environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
